Questions
How does this system work with my Practice Management Software (PMS)?
Healthengine's Online Booking System works by reading your appointment book and displaying your available appointments online in real-time. Only those appointments that match the criteria defined by your practice at the time of installation will be displayed.
How do you read my appointments?
We read your appointments through a piece of software called the 'Appointment Connector,' which we install on your practice server. The Appointment Connector allows us to:
- Scan and read your appointment book to detect available appointments.
- Publish available slots online in real-time.
When a patient books an appointment online, the Appointment Connector:
- Scans your patient records for a match based on name, mobile number, and date of birth.
- Adds the booking to your appointment book if a match is found.
- Creates a new patient record if no match exists and removes the slot from availability online.
How do I know a booking has come through?
When a patient successfully books an appointment:
- The booking is automatically populated into your appointment book, including the patient's name and contact details.
- An 'HE' symbol will appear to identify the booking.
- For non-integrated practices, you will receive an email notification of all bookings.
Will this affect my PMS or change how I run my practice?
No. While we encourage you to utilise all of the product features to elevate online visibility and improve practice efficiency, we understand that every practice has different needs. You can choose to activate or deactivate any features at any time.
Will this affect my PMS or change how I have to run my practice?
No. Healthengine's Online Booking System is designed to seamlessly fit into your existing practice workflows.
- It mirrors your appointment book for availability.
- Whoever manages your PMS remains in full control.
- We do not store, share, or modify any data within your appointment book.
How does a patient end up with the right doctor, appointment length and appointment type?
Patients are guided through the booking process as follows:
- They select the practitioner they'd like to see.
- They choose the appointment type.
Each appointment type has a default appointment length set during your system installation. You can customise appointment lengths based on your doctors' preferences, giving you full control over how appointments are managed.
Don't you guys charge me for every booking?
No. Any existing patient who books via any Healthengine online booking channel (including your website plugin, Healthengine.com.au, or the app) is free of charge to you.
Is my patient data secure? What are you doing with it?
